Breakthru Florida Raises Nearly $75,000 for Miami Dolphins� Cancer

The Breakthru Florida team is very passionate about contributing personal time and resources to helping worthwhile causes in the community, and one issue that directly or indirectly affects everyone is cancer. According to the , nearly 1.7 million new cases of cancer were diagnosed in the U.S. last year, including over 100,000 in Florida, making fundraising for cancer research a potentially life-saving endeavor for friends and family.
Earlier this year, Breakthru was teamed up with the Miami Dolphins for the , a charitable initiative from the two-time Super Bowl champs that supports the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, a South Florida leader in cancer research and treatment.
“We were thrilled to partner with the Dolphins to do our part in the fight against cancer,” said Eric Pfeil, Breakthru Florida Executive Vice President. “I was proud at the strong turnout from our Breakthru team as they participated in a variety of challenges – all in the spirit of supporting invaluable cancer research and treatment.”
More than 50 Breakthru associates tackled the Dolphins Cancer Challenge, including runners, walkers and bikers. Challenges included: 100 mile ride, 56 mile ride, 35 mile ride, 25 mile ride, 14 mile ride and the 5K run/walk.
Through the unselfish efforts of Breakthru associates, we were able to raise nearly $75,000 to support cancer research and treatment. Thank you to everyone who participated, and thank you to the Miami Dolphins and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center for all of your work in the fight against cancer.
