Breakthru Beverage Pennsylvania Helps Those in Need During OND

November is often considered a time for giving thanks, but for Breakthru Beverage Pennsylvania, it was also a time for giving back. Twice during the month of November, Breakthru Beverage PA employees took time out of their busy OND schedules to help raise funds for those in need and give back to the communities they call home.
On Sunday, Nov. 8, Breakthru Beverage PA partnered with to raise awareness and to help fight childhood cancer. Breakthru Beverage PA and Tito’s Handmade Vodka sponsored the Lemon Run 5K, and employees, along with their family and friends, came out to Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, Pa., to participate in the run.
Through the sponsorship, Breakthru Beverage PA and Tito’s Handmade Vodka donated $5,000 to. The team event page also raised more than $1,700 to help put the squeeze on childhood cancer.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation relies on donations to help fund critically needed research to find better treatments and cures for children with cancer. Since 2005, they have raised more than $100 million to fund 500 childhood cancer research projects at over 100 top hospitals and institutions in the United States and Canada.
On Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, Breakthru Beverage PA partnered with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board to kick off the holiday season by volunteering at Central Pennsylvania Food Bank’s Turkey Drive. The Breakthru Beverage PA team learned about the evolution of the food bank, which is working to educate Pennsylvania residents on how to prepare and eat healthfully.
On behalf of the , Breakthru Beverage PA also presented a check for $10,000 to the , which will enable it to purchase and distribute approximately 600 turkeys during the holiday season. On the day of the check presentation, 35 associates from Breakthru Beverage PA volunteered by packing apples and other assorted food. A total of 7,300 pounds of apples were sorted and repackaged, which will be distributed in 27 counties across Pennsylvania.
